Tavistock was again the destination for another fun very cold start everywhere white with a hard frost, and I was soon under way with a nice cuppa on this hedge restoration work.
But no matter, it’s the seasons that shape things for us!
It was 13 Metres of Hazel that needed restoration. Some large trunks had been cut high and had to be reduced in size, alas previously this hedge had been layered in 2 directions, which is not so good.
As a rule, if the hedge is level it can be laid left or right. However, if it is sloping the hedge must be laid in the same direction as the slope, why, well that’s an easy one, sap rises (you knew that didn’t you)! – Anyway, all went well on the project, and was completed just over a day.
